Vakar grįžau iš konferencijos “Pažangūs statistikos panaudojimo žinioms metodai”, kurią organizavo OECD ir Švedijos statistikos agentūra. Konferecijos pranešėjai pristatinėjo įvairias IT priemones, kurių pagalba galima patobulinti statistinių duomenų pateikimą, kad statistika taptų labiau prieinama ir suprantama visuomenei. Vienas aktyviausių šios konferencijos dalyvių buvo Stokholmo universiteto profesorius Hansas Roslingas, “Gapminder” kūrėjas, pademonstravęs šios programos galimybes vizualizuoti statistines diagramas (žr.www.gapminder.org) ir išdėstęs viziją, jog šiuolaikinių technologijų dėka statistinė informacija galėtų tapti laisvai prieinama ir suprantama visiems, o statistikos kūrimas galėtų tapti ne tik statistikos agentūrų, bet visų žmonių reikalu. Kiti pranešėjai demonstravo konkrečius pavyzdžius, kaip statistinė informacija yra vizualizuojama, kad ją būtų lengviau suprasti žmonėms, paprasčiau panaudoti viešosios politikos problemų sprendimui. Man ypač įdomu buvo klausytis pranešimų, kuriuose buvo pristatomi sėkmingi viešosios politikos problemų sprendimo projektai, IT pagalba integruojant statistinę informaciją ir kokybinius duomenis, sutelkiant ekspertus ir suinteresuotus piliečius problemų aptarimui ir sprendimų alternatyvų siūlymams. Apie vieną tokį projektą galite paskaityti interneto svetainėje www.knowledgeplex.org (svetainė sutelkia informaciją ir ekspertus JAV aktualiai įperkamo būsto problemai spręsti). Kitu projektu siekiama stebėti Balatono ežero regiono Vengrijoje socialines-ekonomines ir aplinkosaugines tendencijas (tiesa, šio projekto interneto svetainės kol kas nepavyko aptikti).
